Event Objectives & Content

This event was designed to:

  • Provide a high-level overview of the elements of a Food Safety program (GMP & HACCP).
  • Further an awareness of the principles, intent and potential benefits of a Food Safety program.
  • Build an awareness of the typical role of the Food Safety Team within an organization.

We will discuss topics such as:

  • Basic principles of Food Safety, GMP & HACCP.
  • Typical benefits of a functioning Food Safety program.
  • Roles, responsibilities and expectations of the Food Safety Team.

  • This course provides a simple, but effective way for everyone in an organization, especially those who are not members of the Food Safety Team, to become more aware of the principles of Food Safety.
  • You will receive guidance on the typical expectations of GMP, HACCP and a Food Safety program.
  • This is an opportunity for you to become more aware of the importance of Food Safety to the products you offer.
  • You will have the opportunity to ask questions of a Food Safety Specialist regarding the general concepts and principles of Food Safety.

  • Anyone who is interested in improving the safety of their food and related products.
  • Individuals who are NOT on the Food Safety team and are seeking guidance on how to better support the Food Safety team.
  • Individuals seeking to better understand how Food Safety may be applied to their product and how it is relevant to their role in the organization.

What to Expect

  • A Food Safety Specialist will deliver the presentation and facilitate a Q&A session.

Quiz/ Exam:

  • Attendee participation during the event will be expected, as required.

Completion & Certificate:

  • Certificate issued upon course completion.
  • Course completion requires full attendance at training sessions, successful completion of assignments, and a passing score on the final quiz (minimum 80%).
